Delivered in a classroom setting, A Gift of Giving teaches youth about community service through hands-on experiences. These program sessions are structured to lead youth through conceptualizing and implementing a community service project from start to finish. Program designed for Kindergarten - 9th grades.
Camp
Janis Barksdale, Camp Director
Through our field trips, resident camp, day camp, specialty camps and events, children learn independent living skills, group cooperation, friendship skills and self-esteem while learning about ecology, conservation, the interrelationships of all living things, health and fitness. Families are strengthened through participation in special camps and events.
Camp Fire West After-school Care

This West End site provides safe, affordable, quality after-school care. Tutoring and a computer lab are available to program participants in kindergarten – 5th grade.
Career Prep

Camp Fire USA’s Career Prep programs give students an opportunity to understand their aptitude and interests and teach them how to use this knowledge in preparing for the work force. Program designed for 4th - 12th grade students.
Character Development
Barbara Spink, Program Manager
Character Development/Outside-In Day is an in-school event which has been developed to combat bullying and increase acceptance of diversity among students. The goal is to help create a compassionate, respectful and tolerant caring majority within the school environment. Program designed for 6th - 12th grades.

Renee Bireley, Program Manager Links-up Mentoring is a program in which college students are recruited and trained to work in pairs as mentors to groups of youth in elementary and middle schools in the Birmingham area. Teachers and school counselors select students for mentor groups based on the group's need for increased awareness and improvement on a variety of issues. Program designed for kindergarten – 8th grades.

Faye Quinney, Program Manager Self-Reliance is an in-school program where participants learn how to make healthy decisions which ensure safety, how to deal with peer pressure, and how to assume responsibility. Program designed for kindergarten – 5th grades.
